10 Key Takeaways.

I'm nearing the end of a 12-week teaching run of the course I created called "Marketing & Strategic Intelligence" to 30 MBA students at the University of Canterbury's Business School.

Student feedback has been bloody good, which is lovely, and made me think of creating a series, '10 Key Takeaways', from each of the ten 3-hour lectures I've taught.

I appreciate that you lose much of the depth, context, and examples by presenting it this way, but hey, I'm of the mind that if it's easily digestible, of value, and perhaps moves a person or three to find out more, it seems worthwhile to me.

I've also received a lot of "thanks" from students, which made me think I have an awful lot of people to thank, who, through their own toil, hard work, and generosity, as well as their mentorship, partnership, and employment, helped to shape the content I created for the course. Without all of you, it would have been a very different course, with a lot less thanks.

So, thank you to the fantastic people, marketers, creatives, strategists, media and PR practitioners, client service folks, and business leaders I've worked with over the last 25 years; also to the thinkers, practitioners, educators, and leaders who laid the foundations of this great industry of ours, and to all the current individuals who are working hard to make it and us even better.

Here are 10 key takeaways from Week 1, which focused on value and introduced the weeks that followed.
